Description
This 5 cents postage stamp was issued to draw attention to Canada's most popular winter sport, hockey. The Post Office Department wished to pay tribute to the skill of Canada's hockey players and the prestige they have earned for Canada in international competition. This stamp was designed by James Simpkins of Ottawa and was engraved and printed by the Canadian Bank Note Company, Ottawa.
