Description
To replace the Canadian mammals definitive set first introduced in 1988, a new series of medium-value definitive stamps featuring fruit trees in Canada made its debut on December 27, 1991. The Stanley Plum is a European variety that was introduced in 1926 from the New York Agricultural Experiment Station. Ripening in September, it is a medium, dark blue fruit with yellow, juicy flesh.
